Our Services

We offer a range of services for children supporting their communication development. We are proud to offer speech pathology services that are family centred and evidence based.

Early Communication

Children first learn to communicate with others by looking, making facial expressions, using gestures and vocalising sounds. These early communication skills lay the foundation for learning to say words. We offer parent coaching to help you learn how to build meaningful interactions with your child that encourage them to communicate with you. This method is intended to empower you to continue supporting your child’s early communication development at home during play and your everyday routines.

Language

There are two areas of language development: receptive language and expressive language. Receptive language is a child's ability to understand words and follow instructions. Expressive language is a child's ability to use words to form grammatical sentences and communicate clearly with others. We offer individualised language therapy to help children improve their understanding and use of language in a variety of settings.

Speech Sounds

Children who have difficulty making certain sounds might leave them out or replace them with other sounds. Some children may also have a lisp or slushy-sounding speech. We offer speech sound therapy for children who are hard to understand or have difficulty with producing specific sounds.

Stuttering

Stuttering is difficulty with fluency where children might repeat sounds, parts of words, whole words, phrases or sentences. They might also stretch out sounds or seem to get stuck trying to say a word. We offer fluency therapy to help children who stutter speak more smoothly. Our therapists are trained in the Lidcombe Program and use various strategies to help children reduce stuttering and communicate more effectively.
